Living between London and Rotterdam, this young lady started singing before she could even speak. Her musical influences include greats such as Quincy Jones, Bob Marley, Anita Baker & Curtis Mayfield to name but a few. TW’s musical journey has been one of continuous growth. In 2002 Tasha’s World signed to The Klinik Music Productions who are proud to have a genuine quality artist such as Tasha’s World representing European Soul music! TW is an accomplished singer/songwriter and this is evident when you listen to her intense thought-provoking lyrics. She has written the large majority of her songs but is not afraid to open up to other writers who understand her style and who she is. Almost all of the songs are written on the same day of recording so this can truly be called organic soul.
TW’s musical journey has seen her perform before thousands of people around the world. South Africa (North Sea Jazz) in Cape Town, North Sea Jazz in The Netherlands, SOB’S New York, Eritrea for the United Nations, Sofia Jazz Peak in Bulgaria, Jazz Café, London on three occasions. Her first album was released in Japan before it had a European release such is the way of music that even in her own country they had to import the album from Japan. One of her first live performance under her UK management was a was at the Jill Scott official after party at The Paradiso in Amsterdam on 22/23 February, 2002. Jill Scott stood and watched with disbelief, Jill Scott sang along and clapped after every track. When the show was over she screamed "More…More" and waited to greet Tasha’s World after the show since then she had performed at over 150 concerts around the world.Tasha's World, why this name? well as most of you already know the name Tasha's World comes from Natascha. When Natascha decided to start her journey into music she had to find an artist name that would encompass all contributors to her development. So the idea of making each person that contributed to her career in any way part of Tasha's World was born.
So the artist name of Tasha's World has life to it and it is a world full of beautiful people like her mother, her daughter, her musicians, producers and anyone who made an impact in her development as an artist.
Some misinformed people still try and call her Tasha but Tasha's World is the name.
Her Family name is Natascha Slagtand it is private and never used to describe the artist, there is no Natascha Slagtand albums in the shops.
Family background is from the South American country of Suriname a former Dutch Colony Location Northern south america, bordering the north atlantic ocean, between french guiana and Guyana. Suriname is known for having more surinamese in The Netherlands than within its own borders the capitol city only has just roughly over 438,144 (July 2005 est citizens.
The capitol is Paramaribo and the country has one of the richest rain forest in the world. But the main population is in the capitol and is serviced by KLM and Suriname Airways.

Tasha's World was born in the suburbs of Rotterdam which once boasted the worlds biggest port until recently a title now owned by Japan.
Being brought up in The Netherlands allowed the influence of imported Soul land Jazz, Reggae and Hip Hop which has helped to form the person we now know and love as a talented singer songwriter , without roots you have no foundation.
Like many other artist of her generation Tasha's World came from a musical family mostly her father who played the bass in his own band.
Being from such a small country as The Netherlands has not held back the growth of this artist. Now matured with the influences of life she begins to give to others by writing wonderful songs with haunting melody lines and unforgettable words. its not for everyone but those who are into it are fully in.
In 2001 Tasha's World was delivered by fate and destiny into the world of The Klinik Music Productions a London based production and management company. There she found a home and people who could convert her raw talent into airplay material and get it out to the mass market.
Here began the electric pairing of Tasha's World with producer and manager. Patrick Jacobs the rest is history, literally. By being the only credible soul artist to ever come out of Holland Tasha's World and patrick jacobs have made Dutch history. Awards have come in the form of an EMMA award a Silver Harp, an Essent Award and the story continues.
